Anybody looking to upgrade their Duramax engine with aftermarket parts has a one-stop shop for anything they could ever need, and that would be Banks Power. With tons of different upgrade options available for a Duramax, ranging from intake systems and tuners to torque converters and wastegate actuators; Banks has you covered. In this article, there will be some select Banks Duramax products detailed and if you don’t find information on one in particular that you’re looking for then check out the bottom of the page for a link to the website with all the Banks products available with descriptions and the like.
First off let’s start with the Banks Power Big Hoss Intake Manifold System built for the 2001-2009 6.6L GM Duramax LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM diesel. Designed as a race-only upgrade due to its requirement of hood modification to fit properly, this system will maximize the performance of your Duramax’s air intake system. These manifolds are the only ones designed specifically for the Duramax and were tested on Banks’ Duramax Sidewinder S-10 Diesel Drag Truck. Replacing the stock’s clam shell design with a tuned 16-port manifold assembly that gives the Duramax a boost in the airflow and its distribution, allowing for more available power at any boost level.
Another great Banks product is the Banks Power Billet Torque Converter built for a 2001-2010 6.6L GM Duramax diesel truck equipped with any version of the Allison automatic transmission. This Torque Converter improves the pulling performance in your vehicle with its cutting edge design and Bank’s patented RaceLock technology. The RaceLock technology does away with gaps left in other aftermarket designs that are prone to leaks and loosening. Most aftermarket torque converters have small clutch surfaces leading to wear and tear on the clutch as well an increase in transmission temperatures. Designed to perfectly match the Duramax’s torque band, this system can give maximum power to the wheels, shedding nearly a second off of the 0-60 MPH acceleration time.
The last Banks Duramax product we’ll describe for you today is the Banks Power Dual Monster Exhaust System built for a 2006-2007 6.6L GM Duramax LLY or LBZ pickup truck with a standard cab long bed configuration. With a great-sounding, open, and free-flowing design, the Monster Exhaust system never disappoints with it’s performance gains. Sporting 3 1/2″ stainless-steel tailpipes with heavy-wall tubing and constant-diameter bends formed with mandrel-bending techniques, this exhaust system will give your Duramax a dramatic increase in airflow, a cut in backpressure giving way to cooler operating temperatures, and has an exclusive expansion chamber that will produce a pleasant sound from your system.
