The Banks Ram-Air intake system will give your system a boost of 64% to airflow, keeping the air cool, more dense, with less smoke, and a higher MPG rating.  It’s exclusive 4 1/2″ bellows is flexible, allowing it to move with the engine and protect other vital systems.  While the installed exhaust system will improve the airflow by 122% better than stock and practically gets rid of all backpressure.  The Techni-Cooler intercooler system boasts 3 1/2″ boost tubes with a superior end tank constructed of aluminum.  The intercooler has a thicker core with up to 27% more volume than stock models, leading to less boost pressure loss and an increase in power.

With the Monster-Ram comes a large, streamlined design aiding in the amount of airflow and not restricting it at all.  This system improves the flow of oxygen-rich air into the cylinders delivering instant torque and an improvement in fuel efficiency.  The Monster Muffler’s 4″ straight-through flow-path allows for the airflow to increase by up to 201% more than stock.  Lastly with the BigHead Wastegate Actuator’s doubled diaphragm area and spring pressure, you’re going to be experiencing massive gains in your vehicle’s boost and sustaining it for longer periods of time.

Banks Duramax

Anybody looking to upgrade their Duramax engine with aftermarket parts has a one-stop shop for anything they could ever need, and that would be Banks Power.  With tons of different upgrade options available for a Duramax, ranging from intake systems and tuners to torque converters and wastegate actuators; Banks has you covered.  In this article, there will be some select Banks Duramax products detailed and if you don’t find information on one in particular that you’re looking for then check out the bottom of the page for a link to the website with all the Banks products available with descriptions and the like.

First off let’s start with the Banks Power Big Hoss Intake Manifold System built for the 2001-2009 6.6L GM Duramax LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM diesel.  Designed as a race-only upgrade due to its requirement of hood modification to fit properly, this system will maximize the performance of your Duramax’s air intake system.  These manifolds are the only ones designed specifically for the Duramax and were tested on Banks’ Duramax Sidewinder S-10 Diesel Drag Truck.  Replacing the stock’s clam shell design with a tuned 16-port manifold assembly that gives the Duramax a boost in the airflow and its distribution, allowing for more available power at any boost level.

Another great Banks product is the Banks Power Billet Torque Converter built for a 2001-2010 6.6L GM Duramax diesel truck equipped with any version of the Allison automatic transmission.  This Torque Converter improves the pulling performance in your vehicle with its cutting edge design and Bank’s patented RaceLock technology.  The RaceLock technology does away with gaps left in other aftermarket designs that are prone to leaks and loosening.  Most aftermarket torque converters have small clutch surfaces leading to wear and tear on the clutch as well an increase in transmission temperatures.  Designed to perfectly match the Duramax’s torque band, this system can give maximum power to the wheels, shedding nearly a second off of the 0-60 MPH acceleration time.

The last Banks Duramax product we’ll describe for you today is the Banks Power Dual Monster Exhaust System built for a 2006-2007 6.6L GM Duramax LLY or LBZ pickup truck with a standard cab long bed configuration.  With a great-sounding, open, and free-flowing design, the Monster Exhaust system never disappoints with it’s performance gains.  Sporting 3 1/2″ stainless-steel tailpipes with heavy-wall tubing and constant-diameter bends formed with mandrel-bending techniques, this exhaust system will give your Duramax a dramatic increase in airflow, a cut in backpressure giving way to cooler operating temperatures, and has an exclusive expansion chamber that will produce a pleasant sound from your system.

There clearly are too many excellent Banks Duramax products to fully describe in one entry so be sure to check out our other blogs about Banks products, or go online at Banks Power Products using the search bar on the left side of the screen or call at 714-848-2170.

Big Hoss Intake Manifold

Banks is at it again, they have created an amazing product for your diesel that is going to give you ridiculous amounts of power, your probably wondering “what is this wonderful product that he speaks of?” Well my friend this is the Banks Big Hoss Intake Manifold. What can I say about the Banks Big Hoss Intake Manifold. Well first off this product is not for someone who is just starting to put aftermarket products on their diesel because this product puts out so much power that your stock components won’t be able to handle it, this is more for the people who want their diesel to become a “beast” and have the best of the best systems installed. Secondly this product is for racing applications only, if you were to keep your catalytic converter, and DPF backed system on, it would just be a waste of your money and wouldn’t allow the intake manifold to perform at its maximum, not to mention you have to get hood modifications just to make this product fit in your vehicle!

I’ll give you an example of what a Banks Power Big Hoss Intake Manifold System can do for a 2001-2009 6.6L GM Duramax LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM Diesel Truck. They provide you with tremendous amounts of airflow, that is very evenly distributed. Best of all it gives more power at any boost level you may be at. I can’t stress enough though that this is only for someone who is committed to making their diesel become a “monster” on the raceway and not have a drive around vehicle. This system can provide your diesel with almost over 1,000 horsepower with out the boost even being anywhere around 100 psi. One downside though is that getting this intake system and after installation, it become quite pricey, but hey sometimes that’s the price to pay when you want to be able to dominate every one on the track. More food for thought you really would only like to consider getting this system only after upgrading everything first, because with power like this your stock components just aren’t going to cut it.

Don’t worry though, this product isn’t just for Chevy/GM’s but is also available for some Dodge diesel trucks as well. Since this product comes from Banks you know that you won’t have to worry about this thing breaking on you. This is due to the amount of time and testing that they put into all of their products to ensure consumers like yourself that it will prove to be reliable and durable. All their products start out as CAD software prototypes where they are tested digitally, after that a physical prototype is made and sent to the Flow Bench to be flow tested. When it passes the flow test it is sent to the dyno for any last-minute fine tuning and adjusting, and now it is time for its last and most important test, field testing. They field test their products to make sure that the product will not only outperform in the shop but also in real world application, as well as proving the products reliability and durability.

If you have any questions that you would like answered you can leave a comment, or give us a call at 714-848-2170, or can you can always check out Banks Power Products online. Now what are you doing, go and get yourself that intake manifold and make your diesel the “Big Hoss” of the track.
